The Galbot Galaxy Space Capsule is a compact, capsule-format autonomous retail store operated entirely by Galbot G1 wheeled humanoid robots — designed for rapid deployment in high-traffic commercial plazas, shopping centers, and cultural sites without requiring traditional retail unit construction. Developed by Galbot, a company founded in 2023 by Stanford-trained Peking University robotics scientist Professor He Wang, the Galaxy Space Capsule brings the G1 robot into direct, continuous public-facing retail service as both a commercial operation and a real-world AI performance validation system. A single G1 robot manages the entire 50-square-meter store footprint: receiving tablet-placed customer orders, navigating autonomously to shelves organized within the robot's 240-centimeter maximum reach, retrieving requested items — beverages, snacks, coffee, and pharmaceuticals — and delivering them to customers without any human staff intervention.

Customer interaction is designed to be accessible to anyone: a tablet interface at accessible height handles order placement, while the G1 robot supports voice conversation throughout the service cycle, responding to product questions, issuing welcome greetings, and providing order updates in natural language. The system operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week on the G1's 10-hour battery runtime. The concept debuted at Zhongguancun ART PARK in Beijing in mid-2025 and had expanded to over 100 locations across more than 20 cities by March 2026, including prominent cultural sites such as Beijing's Summer Palace, validating the format across diverse public environments.
